Location convenient, just around the corner from Royal Crescent on West Cliff. We had a lovely room with a seating area and hot drinks making facility. Comfortable bed, good shower, and copious breakfast. Friendly owners.

Everywhere in Whitby is up and down, the hills are legendary. Don't miss Elizabeth Botham's in Skinner Street or Baxtergate for bread, snacks and cakes. We love the fish at the Magpie and have never been disappointed with a meal there. Worth queueing! Unless that's why you're going to Whitby, it's probably worth avoiding Folk Week, Regatta and Goth Weekend.

The breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked & locally sourced produce where possible. The portions were just right, not too much but plenty to set you up for the day. The hosts were very helpful & friendly. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable & the bedding was nice & fresh. The En-suite was spotless & the towels fresh & clean. The only downside, but not really a problem, was the on street parking. All in all we had a lovely stay & would definitely go back again & highly recommend. Oh I forgot to add there is WiFi for the guests to use.

There was a local pub about a 5 or 10 minutes walk from the property, called The Granby, which served food. The portions were very generous & the food was lovely. The toilets were also very clean. The staff were very friendly & polite too. There was plenty to do in Whitby town too.

Very accommodating hosts. Clean and tidy throughout the Guest House and greeted with a great breakfast each morning that catered for everyone’s needs. First class mini break and would not hesitate to return.

Mounteys Italian restaurant & Trenchers Fish Restaurant are worth a visit as well as Whitby Brewery up the 199 steps near the Abbey.

We had a lovely stay . The owners are very helpful , welcoming and friendly . Nothing is too much trouble . Our bedroom was clean , comfortable and provided a good welcome tray including nice hot chocolate and biscuits . Breakfast was very good , cooked to order , well cooked and presented . The only thing missing was fresh fruit which we would’ve liked . Although it does say in the welcome pack , provided when available . The eggs are free range and delicious.

We came to an event at the Pavilion , the Europa is really convenient, only 5 minutes away . We are at Pizza West , again only 5 minutes away with delicious food.

Perfect stay. Good size double room everything you need in it. Free internet. Tasty breakfast with a good selection. Parking can be a problem with parking zones but the hosts give a card to display in your car to park. Short walk to the seafront.

Very clean, friendly, and the cooked breakfast is fab! no grease or messy plates, presented well. Choice of cereal fruit juice and yogurts. Also on arrival Yvonne checked if we had a dietary requirements. Couldn’t ask for more. If there was one thing I would say if you have walking difficulties it can be yelling on your legs hips and knees to get down to the centre of Whitby. Still I’m not put off with this as there is alternative routes down, but you have to walk a fare way round. All in all a great stay and will be back again ☺️

What a fantastic little guest house. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed with everything you could possibly need in your room.A very hearty and good breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for Yvonne and Keith, they were both so helpful.

Yvonne, Keith and their son run a fab little pub down Grape Street in Whitby called the Quirky Den, highly recommend a visit, great beers and loads of gins. Definitely a Quirky place. If you like pubs with live music, go to the Endeavour on church street on a Saturday night. Great singer from Newcastle called Simma plays every Saturday night and some Sunday afternoons.

Basic bedroom but really clean and a proper wardrobe with hangers,hairdryer and a nice tea tray with bottled water. The bed was super comfy and the pillows are not the rock hard kind thank goodness. The hosts are why we would stay again they are just nice people who sorted parking and serve just the right size breakfast. We enjoyed our stay thank you.

When you arrive its quite confusing as 1 side of the street is called Abbey terrace and the other side Hudson street. If we had known to look for the church we would have found it easier. Parking can be hard right outside the property but there are so many places 5 mins away so don't panic. It's worth the lovely walk along the West cliff its stunning.

Keith and Yvonne were very helpful and had a good sense of humour. Mind the last set of stairs are a challenge and I felt like I was about to meet Led Zeppelin singing "Stairway to Heaven" with god also waiting to greet us. As I said Keith and Yvonne have a good sense of humour. I would definitley reccommend their B&B. Breakfast was excellent, location was excellent for getting about.

Abby worth seeing, walking to Sandsend along the beach, walkers will find a good walk to Robin Hoods Bay. Plenty of pubs with sports challenges and two Italian restaurants nearby ie across the river.

Lovely clean hotel and owners were very friendly and accommodating. Location is good,Practically on the sea front. Only downside was the shower not working properly, it didn't work at all if the next room were using theirs.

We ate at a few local restaurants haven't found a bad one yet! Best restaurant for Fish n Chips is The Fisherman's Wife. Went to a 60s night at The Pavillion which was a lovely venue!

Absolutely spot on is the Europa! Yvonne and Keith were amazing. They made us feel really welcome and we felt very comfortable and made ourselves at home. Everything that you need and nothing that you don't. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return. The Hash Brown's at breakfast were the best I've ever had, period. The whole experience was top notch, I've never been a massive fan of B&Bs preferring self catering but after my experience at the europa I was pleasantly surprised. We had a wonderful week at the Europa. The hosts were very welcoming and were very attentive. The breakfast was amazing and always delicious. The room was very reasonably priced and clean and comfortable. Every day we were asked if we needed anything for our rooms. We couldn’t recommend this place more! We will definitely return!

There’s plenty to do in Whitby and surrounding areas. There’s a brilliant bus service nearby, should you wish to venture out to Scarborough or Middlesbrough (we did!). Lots of lovely restaurants and bars. Dogs are very welcome in many restaurants, shops and bars - and on the 20 minute boat tours!

Really nice couple who run the b&b with their daughter. Nothing was to much trouble. Good choice for breakfast. Nice poached eggs. Plenty of coffee. Well presented. Friendly couple. Big double bedroom. Good en suite. Very clean.

Perfect location for our purposes - an event at the Pavilion. The welcome from the owners was warm and friendly, and we appreciated the help with finding a parking spot nearby. The room was very clean and although not the biggest, was very comfortable. It was right at the top of the house, and although we were aware there was no lift, the final flight of stairs was very steep and narrow. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order. Sadly we had to leave a day early due to illness, but we would have no hesitation in staying here again.

It would have been nice to know we had booked the attic room ,too many stairs and small room , it was very basic , and breakfast was very early and a little rushed, thought the price of the room compared to others we have stayed in was high the price should be lower for that room,

Thank you for your comments. Our standard double rooms are advertised that they are on the top floor. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am. On the first morning you arrived at 9:20 of which we still accommodated your breakfast request. With reference to being rushed I cant see that we rushed you in anyway as you sat in the room for quite a while after you had eaten and never asked you to move. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay here in the Europa.

Keith and Yvonne are a very pleasant, welcoming, friendly and helpful couple. Breakfast is very good, you have a choice of cereals plus a cooked breakfast. You even get offered 2 fried eggs which I took full advantage of. The room is big enough and there is a wide variety of beverages. The bathroom is well stocked with plenty of towels and soap, shampoo and moisturizer. Be warned like most if not all there are quite a few stairs and of course being beside the sea very noisy seagulls. I have one request perhaps heavier curtains would go down well. Thank you to the hosts for looking after us.

If you like Italian try the Cosa Nostra.

The room was ok,but in the attic,that was not mentioned in the posting,I have health problems,it was Difficult for me to get up and down,the breakfast was cold,sausage was poor quality, poached egg was made in microwave, tomato big hard lump out of a cheap tin,coffee was just warm, I wouldn't stay again,

Don't go up that area,as it's steep hills up and down to the shops pubs ect,it's a killer.

Hi Donald, the room you booked clearly states that it is on the 3rd floor. With reference to the breakfast we don't understand why it was cold and you never mentioned this. You were the first person down everyday and therefore the coffee was fresh and hot and the breakfasts are cooked fresh and served on hot plates. The poached eggs are not cooked in a microwave they are cooked in a egg poacher. The tinned tomatoes are of a good quality. What surprised us more is that you had the same breakfast everyday and never mentioned the quality or that they were cold? When asked you said that the breakfast was good. We have not had any other complaints with regards to our breakfasts. We feel disappointed that your stay was not as expected. You did mention the hills when you left and we feel that this has made an impact on your stay.

I booked a room with a King Size bed as my boyfriend is quite tall-the room was amazing! It had three windows so was very light and airy with all required amenities, a very comfortable bed and a lovely modern bathroom, and it was spotlessly clean. The owners were lovely, very welcoming and gave good info about the local area. The location was perfect as it was only a 5 minute walk to all the shops, restaurants and attractions. Parking was very convenient, although on the street, we were able to get a spot outside or just round the corner from the house and were given a permit by the hosts to put in the car at a very reasonable £2 a night! I would definitely stay here again😁

We had some lovely meals during our two night stay-the one that stands out was at “The Blitz”, a war time themed tapas restaurant which was perfect for me as I wear 1940/50s clothing, the food was amazing!

Whitby is just great so much to see and so interesting the shops are amazing well worth a visit and the little villages like Goathland and Robin Hood's Bay are so nice went to Falling Foss waterfall where we had lovely coffee and scones with jam and cream
