Check the tide times and walk to Sandsend along the beach. Stop off for a snack at the Sandside cafe before walking back and up the steep incline to West Cliff. I was lucky to see a mother dolphin with her baby swimming close to the end of the pier one evening

Excellent communication about all details related to your stay. Very straightforward picking up keys etc. Easy parking too. This is our second time at Elizabeth Apartments this year. We would definitely come again.

We would always recommend Cranberry Swamp for breakfast and so conveniently just round the corner. Moutrey’s restaurant on Grape Lane was fantastic for an evening meal. Great food, service and good value for money.

Our stay in Elizabeth apartments was superb, very easy to fimd and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. We didn't cook while there but had all appliances if you wanted to. Just a couple of mins walk down to the shops and about a further 5 mins and your on the harbour, It is a little steep so beware if your not good on your feet, I am a larger lady so found it difficult but still managed it

We visited a couple of places while in Whitby and found the local transport quite good, you can get a bus to Scarborough and Middlesborough, we found a place half way between whitby & scaborough called robin hoods bay and stopped off there for a couple of hours, few shops, cafes, pubs leadimg down to the bay, which is a really steep one so as before be very careful and wouldnt recommend if no good on feet, jumped back on the bus to scarborough the same day Lovely cafe across the bridge in whitby called creations, very reasonably priced and then on pur last morning found an even better one called the singing kettle, whuch is on Baxtergate just behind the wetherspoons, also lovely food & staff, open from 5.30AM ifnyour an early riser! Also the Board inn across the bridge amd nearby the 199 steps do an amazing sunday roast and had lovely fish & chips from the quayside along the harbour one evening...plenty to choose from, and lots to do as we didn't go on the boat tours which are every half hr from the harbour...definitely next time. Was my first trip to whitby and definitely not my last!! cathy & david xxx

This is our third visit staying at Elizabeth house and will always book to stay here whenever we visit Whitby. Accommodation is more than adequate for a short break with good facilities. A lovely walk in shower and nice comfortable bed with fresh linen bedding. Location a few minutes walk to the front and shops near with the the famous Bothams bakery just down the road.

Local bus service to nearby resorts runs frequently from the bus station and Staithes and Saltburn are worth a visit. Cosa Notra Italian restaurant serves delicious food always best to book in advance to guarantee a table.

We stayed in No 1 Apartment from 11th Aug 2023 to the 14th Aug 2023. Picking up the keys was so easy and in the next street for the apartment. Hosts are very warm and welcoming and interested in what you have done when visiting Whitby. A lovely relaxing stay for me and my companions. I would highly recommend this place.

The Whitby Regatta was on when we visited and we were lucky to see a fine display by the Red Arrows by the cliffs overlooking the sea. Thoroughly enjoyable. A visit to Whitby Abbey is a must and there is a comic re-enactment of the Dracula story in the grounds of the Abbey. Its on I think 3 times a day but please visit. There is a lot of quirky shops and plenty of shops selling Whitby Jet jewelry. Fish and chip shops galore! A very pretty fishing village and we will return. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Car permits are available from your hosts.

Excellent accomodation in a great location, spotlessly clean. Peter and Manetta are excellent hosts, very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and their incredible breakfasts are a must.

Loads of great beach walks 2 mins from here, Becketts is just along the street from here and does delicious cakes and coffee, The Whitby Deli is a 2 min walk from here and has an excellent selection of delicious treats and meals. Justin’s chocolate shop on Church St makes the best chocolates we’ve ever tasted.

Pete and Manetta are very pleasant and available when needed. Willing to accommodate any specific needs. Apartment very clean with everything you could want for a self catering holiday.

Plenty of shops, bars and leisure centre just a couple of minutes walk away. Away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to all the main attractions. Famous whale bones 2 minutes away. Only place I will stay when visiting Whitby.

The location was great. The apartment was good for our needs but noisy at times because sound travels easily there (we heard other residents in the building and nearby). A guide to use the hot water tank would have been helpful. The bed is very squeaky. The lack of hair shampoo and conditioner is misleading as the advert says toiletries are provided. X2 of crockery and cutlery is too minimal. A glass jug for the microwave would have been helpful.

The apartment is in a very good location but doesn't have a view. Parking is very tight but a permit is provided for a small cost. Dont move your car once you've got your space!! It's very close to Whitby amenities, and if you're not staying indoors much the apartment is spot on. The kitchenette is minimal but adequate; very convenient as it has a fridge and microwave. We ate at Moutrey's; totally recommend it. We also ate local, tasty fish and shops outside the Royal Hotel watching the sun set. A few minutes from our apartment. We climbed the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey and walked to Robin Hood Bay. This is an amazing and beautiful costal walk.

Go up all the 199 steps and go for a beer at the Whitby Brewery. Leave the car where it is and use the public transport - £2 anywhere on the bus. If, like us, you want a special meal, aim for the Magpie Cafe in the evening but make sure you book a table. And most of all - enjoy yourselves

The apartments are ideally situated only a 5 minute walk from the town. Our apartment (Sandsend 1) was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Paid permit parking was available in the street and Pete supplied the permit with the keys on arrival making it simple.

On advice from the hosts prior to arrival we prebooked our restaurants - The Magpie and the Cosa Nostra for the Saturday and Sunday night, and were able to walk right in. This was excellent advice as both restaurants are extremely busy and there were long queues at many points. We highly recommend both. The walk from Whitby to Sandsend is well worth it. Local buses (half hourly) can take you to Robin Hood Bay and Scarborough and saves you the hassle of trying to find parking .

Peter made sure that all was ready for our stay and the apartment was very comfortable and more spacious than we had expected. Trenchers fish and chip ate the best definitely worth a visit. Sherlocks cafe is one of our favourites. Take a walk to Sandsend and stop for coffee at Wits End cafe before walking back or catching the bus that stops right outside.

Pete and Manetta are great. professional and friendly and offer a personal touch. Don't know who does the cooking but the breakfast is really good. We booked apartments and in our view they are value for money. Clean, relatively spacious, good amount of room and excellent kitchen facilities. All round Elizabeth Apartments are nice place to stay. A 10mins - if that - nice walk into town.

Being 10 mins or so from town, these apartments are nicely situated in a quiet spot but with easy walking distance to pubs, and restaurants. A lovely little apartment with everything that you would need for a stay or break in Whitby. Would highly recommend a stay within the sandpiper accommodation. Ideal for the beach, bars , restaurants and the Abbey.

Highly recommend the fish & chips from magpie's, very tasty. Walk along the cobbled narrow streets and have a look in some of the quaint shops. Sit outside one of the many bars and watch the world go by.

Lots of high standard fish and chip shop restaurants around whitby. Botham of whitby is a high class bakery selling a wide range of fresh baked food stuffs. Claras on the West cliff is a little gem for coffee ect. Hammonds is my place for whitby jet jewelry. They are just a few of the many great shops around whitby.the whitby regatta is my highlight every year. It is a amazing 3 days every year held in August.

Apartment was very clean and nicely decorated and had everything you needed for your stay. Great location to walk into the harbor and town area and to access the beach.

Everywhere we ate the food was great, fish and chips are a must to eat. Great to walk around the harbor and cobbled streets and along the beach. Sandsend beach was perfect for a beach day and paddle boarding, some great walks along the coastal paths too. It was great to see the whole area was looked after with very little litter. Can't wait to come back for a longer trip.

We have stayed in the Elizabeth Apartments several times and once again we have had a wonderful break with the added bonus of a week of sunshine. Peter and Manetta as ever were very welcoming and friendly and on hand if there was anything you required. We stayed in apartment 3 which has had a recent upgrade and is very comfortable and has all the facilities that you need. We would recommend and will be returning in the future .

Black Horse for a traditional pub and Arch and Abbey micro pub just around the corner. Cosa Nostra very good Italian restaurant and Magpie Cafe for best fish and chips Coastal walks worth doing are Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Sandsend.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay, everything was perfect from communication with the owners, parking assistance, apartment facilities and location. The apartment was fully equipped with everything you need for your stay. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Park up the car and walk everywhere, the location is perfect for all amenities, shops and restaurants. The beach and park are a stones throw away. Absolutely perfect getaway.

we arrived 2 hours early but that was not a problem, we got parked easily and where given the keys straight away. We stayed in the studio apartment for seven nights. It was very clean and cosy and ideal for a couple, It has everything you need, a very clean and cosy bed, The bathroom has a very good shower, Also a microwave oven and a full size fridge, Can recommend this for any break, Peter cannot do enough for you.

its a good mornings walk along the beech to sand send, Moutreys is a very good Italian restaurant book you do need to book.

Recommend The Trenches, Star Inn and Terrys restaurants. Endless places to taste various dishes and being by the seaside fish & chips is a favourite. Worth a walk up the 199 steps to the Abbey for amazing views and you can’t forget the 2p slot machines.

We stayed at the Elizabeth apartments for a 2 night stay. We stopped in the sandsend apartment. The apartment was spacious and very homely and the apartment was cleaned to the highest standards, in-fact this was the cleanest accommodation I have ever stayed in. Location was great and managed to park across the road from the apartment after cars had moved from day trips. Owners were lovely 😊 and kept us updated with any information. Would definitely stop here again and recommend the sandsend apartment

It's a nice place to stay, it's easy to have acces to the beach. The staff and the owner are very nice and I will definitely come back again. I felt very nice here. I really recommend for someone how want to have a good and relaxing holiday.

There are lots of interest points around and it's to have access by walking. The co-op it around 10 min walking, the beach is around 7 min walking. The swing bridge is around 10-15min walking.

Beautiful apartment, very comfortable and clean, everything you need for a self catering stay. Owners are very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the ground floor apartment for a few days,whuch was very spacious. On street parking was a bonus for £5 for two days. Good location just a short walk to the harbour. Highly recommend this apartment.

Lots of quirky independent shops around the harbour and plenty of good fish and chip shops. We ate in the Magpie one evening, which was very busy even this time of year so booking would be the best option everywhere for evening meals.

The owners Peter & Manetta are very friendly, approachable and helpful. The studio apartment at Elizabeth House is a short stroll from the main guesthouse and is well equipped with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Ideal for a lone traveller or a couple. Very comfortable bed, lovely fresh clean white sheets and towels provided. Also cups, plates, glasses, cutlery etc for two people ensuring everything is to hand. Sofa was appreciated after a full day of walking around in Whitby. Very pleased with my 3 day break in that apartment (no.4) on the first floor. I will definitely book again.

Went to the Magpie restaurant for the first time in all the years I have been holidaying in Whitby. It was a lovely meal, fish was superb. Not expensive, £40 for two people including drinks and sides. Think I still prefer eating them out of a box on the seafront though. The 199 steps up to the abbey are a must, it was fabulous weather for my stay and the views were excellent. A walk on the beach at low tide is great for the soul! Fabulous selection of traditional pubs and quirky bars and bistros, spoilt for choice. Abbey Wharf is one of my favourites, as is the little wine bar against the harbour (Sun & Sixpence, I think it’s called). Passage to India next to the train station do a great curry! I’m fitter from all the walking, but definitely fatter thanks to the great food & drinks that Whitby has to offer!

This was our first stay at Elizabeth Apartments and we really enjoyed the accommodation, it was very clean, comfortable, all furnishings of a good quality. Only a few minutes to town centre and beach. The host Peter was very helpful, keys and car permit awaiting collection as soon as we arrived. I would stay here again.

Lots of lovely pubs/restaurants. Really nice pub nearby Granby Hotel. Walk to Abbey was lovely/also nice walk to Sandsend.

Great location, very friendly staff and very reasonably priced.

The abbey is a must, all the bars and restaurants do get busy so if you have a favourite in mind, maybe book to avoid disappointment. The whole place is very dog friendly also which is great.

The standard of the apartment was as I hoped.It was clean and obviously well looked after.The owners were friendly and very helpful. I would recomend this place for a couple who mostly intend to eat out.

There are very many fish and chip restaurants and shops. We particularly enjoyed our visit to Cosa Nostra.We went on the NYMR to Pickering which was a little dissapointing as the trip took far longer than it said with 3 or 4 long stops as engines were moved around. Pickering has little to offer on a rainy day with three hours to spend. Robin Hoods Bay was well worth a visit !!

Small points to note. Shower corners were a bit grimy and extractor was dusty. Front room left side window wouldn’t lock.

Ate at Quayside and Mademoiselles which were both great. Enjoyed the boat trip from the harbour, walk up to the Abbey and the drive out to Staithes. Afternoon tea at Raithwaite Hall was also very nice.

The flat was perfect for a small group. Had everything we needed. Our hosts were very responsive to queries during our stay.

Great location with many key sites in walking distance. I was staying with elderly parents who have some mobility issues. From the flat it is a flat walk to the museum and the west cliff. And from there there is a lift down to the beach. We ate at the Granby Hotel and enjoyed their Sunday lunch - a very short walk from the flat and avoided tackling steep hills down to the town.

Great location and very clean and cosy. Kitchen well equipped. Bedroom very small! There was a bit of a musty smell which disappeared once we opened windows and put heating on.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation in a fantastic location for exploring everything Whitby has to offer. Adorable hosts and extremely helpful too. Great communication prior to our stay. Room was immaculately decorated, clean and well equipped for our stay. Was about a 5 min walk to the sea front. We stayed in apartment 4, perfect for a couple. Would highly recommend.

Would highly recommend The Marine and The Moon and Sixpence for evening dining. Can also recommend Harry's Bit on the Side and Hetty and Betty's Whitby afternoon tea. The Dolphin was great for drinks. All easily accessible on foot from Elizabeth House.

The apartment had everything we needed and more. Peter met us at Sandpiper House just down the road and then walked us to the apartment. Clean and tidy but with a homely warm feel. Glad we found Elizabeth House and we now have a second home in Whitby that has become a home from home with all our usual comforts.

Mr Chips restaurant was excellent. Bothams is just down the road so don’t wander into town to find one.
